Stamp Issue “Lunar Year of the Dragon”
03/01/2024 15:30
Macao Post and Telecommunications
Bureau will release the fifth issue of
the fourth series of Chinese Zodiac
philatelic products with the stamp
theme
“Lunar
Year of the Dragon”
on 5th January,
2024. It is said that
“the Dragon brings prosperity to
China, and the swallows dance with the
Spring.” On the joyous arrival
of the Lunar Year of the Dragon, the
well designed commemorative stamps are
issued to wish everyone
“Vigorous as Dragon and
Horse”.
The conceptual design of the fourth
series is based on the four seasons.
This issue includes a set of four
stamps and one souvenir sheet. With
the different images and elements of
the dragon, the stamps were inspired
by three representative festivals and
a solar term in the four seasons,
namely the Chinese New Year, the
Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-Autumn
Festival, and the Winter Solstice,
showing the colorful changes of the
seasons. Collectively resembling the
shape of a rectangular grid, the four
stamps share one festive square
pattern which depicts the Chinese
character“龍”(dragon) in
cursive script.
The above issue will be available for
sale at the General Post Office
(9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the
Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to
