Stamp Issue “Macao Bridge”
25/09/2024 15:13
Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Macao Bridge” on 1st
October, 2024. The Macao Bridge is located on the east side of the Friendship Bridge, spans over the Outer
Harbour Channel and the Macao Channel. It connects Macao’s three important ports of sea, land and air, and is a key node in
the construction of Macao’s urban transportation system. With the undulating curves of space truss originating from the soft
contours of the waves, combined with its stunning landscape, the Bridge will become a new landmark of Macao, adding colour to
the city.
The Macao Bridge is the first two-way eight-lane sea-crossing bridge in Macao. The construction of the Bridge has adopted new
materials, new construction processes, new technologies, new equipment, and smart construction management. After the official
opening of the Bridge, it will not only optimise the travel environment for residents, but also improve the overall regional
transportation network in Macao.
This issue includes a set of two stamps and one souvenir sheet. The two stamps show the day and night scenes from different
perspectives and the wave-like space trusses of the bridge in simple compositions and soft tones. The main visual of the
souvenir sheet includes the architecture of the Macao Bridge, with a ferry passing under the Bridge, showing the beauty of
both vibrance and serenity. The background features the silhouette of the Macao map, marking the location of the Bridge.
The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 2:00p.m.), and the Communications Museum
